See's Candy

See's Candy just blew me away today with their great customer service! I brought in a box of prepackaged truffles that they sell and asked the lady working there if these truffles have dried fruits in them (the ingredients listed dried fruits and I wasn't sure if that was a generic ingredients list or if it pertained specifically to these truffles). The lady said that they did indeed have dried fruits inside. So, then I asked her if it was okay if I exchanged them for a box that did not have dried fruits in the truffles, since I do not particularly like them. She said that they were out of stock of the other mixed chocolates box in the half pound size, but that I could hand select half a pound of assorted chocolates myself. All I had to do was fill out a form and sign it (for legal purposes? I have no idea!). Then she proceeded to take my order as I perused the glass case displaying all the beautiful See's chocolates. I picked out some of my favorites and then some that I've never had a chance to taste, but that sounded good to me. OH, man alive, was I excited! I have never hand-picked a box of chocolates at See's Candy--it was FUN!! I literally felt like a kid in candy store--well, I was IN a candy store, but I got to pick out whatever I wanted!

All I have to say is that See's Candy has a great exchange policy! I didn't have a receipt for the box of truffles, but since the package was unopened, they had no problem letting me get exactly what I wanted. I admit, I got 3 pieces of one of my favorites: Scotchmallow. I decided to try some new ones: Dark California Brittle, which is hard toffee with almonds, covered with dark chocolate and a coconut one that is like a Mounds candy bar. I threw in some of other favorites like caramel with almonds, mocha, and toffee-ettes until the box was filled. There's a lot of room for half a pound of candy in that box! I'm really not supposed to be eating candy, but every now and then, I guess I deserve a treat...and I can't let these babies go to waste!
