We went to Western Appliance today to look at our choices for a new oven. Our oven has been broken for a month now and I am going crazy trying to think my way around using it when I'm cooking dinner. I know an oven is not a necessity, but it sure helps when I need to finish something by broiling it or if I want to bake some cookies! Plus, I do need an oven to make lasagna and enchiladas! We figured that it would probably cost more to fix our oven than to just replace it, since it's already over 10 years old.
Anyway, we did some research online and knew the general price ranges that were available. So, when we went to the store, we told the sales representative that we saw this model oven online for way less. After offering to waive the delivery and set up fee, the sales representative finally said he'd take $100 off the price for us, which is better than the free delivery and set up. Personally, I was hoping he would have worked harder for our business and still waive the delivery and set up fee, but at least we got something taken off the listed price. It never hurts to ask what kind of discount retailers are willing to give, because a lot of times, there is some "wiggle" room in the pricing and they just want to see who will pay sticker price!
Bravo, Western Appliance for being willing to barter down the price even though there wasn't an advertised sale going on today!
