The Secret about Target Rain Checks

Let's revisit Target...

I just learned a new secret today about Target's rain check policy. I went there for some rechargeable Rayovac AAA batteries that they had on sale for $7.99, which are normally $10.49. Of course, by the time I got to the store, they were all sold out. I asked someone who worked there if they had any more in the back and they didn't, so I asked for a rain check. Well, when I looked at the rain check ticket, I noticed an area that said, "Choose a substitute." I have never used this option before when dealing with a rain check, so I asked them if I could buy Energizer batteries and get them for the Rayovac sale price. They weren't sure. So, I went to checkout and the cashier said that she could give me the same 24% off the Energizer batteries that the Rayovac batteries were marked down. I said, that'd be great! (Rechargeable batteries rarely ever go on sale, so this was my lucky day!)

Target is just amazing with their policies! Now, I won't get discouraged when sale items are out of stock, because I know I can always "choose a substitute" and get a discount on a similar item, different brand.
This experience has just given me one more reason why I love shopping at Target!
