I learned something new today about Bed Bath & Beyond! I went there looking for a tortilla press, so I could make my own corn tortillas and pupusas at home. I looked up the tortilla press on the Bed Bath & Beyond website just to make sure it was still sold there. I even cross checked Cost Plus World Market to see if that store sold it for less. Turns out Cost Plus World Market no longer sells tortilla presses! (Good thing I called because that saved me an extra trip to that store). 


So anyway, I was searching high and low for the tortilla press and couldn't find it on the shelves, so I asked a sales clerk and she said they didn't have it there. I asked her if I could order one and pick it up at the store when it came in, and she said she could place my order through the store and have it shipped directly to me--even better! Then, she said the magic words: "You can even use your coupon!" I had a $5.00 off $15.00 purchase, so this was perfect! (Note: The coupon says that it is not valid for online purchases, but since I placed my order through the store, they were able to override that restriction--BONUS!). Then I asked if I could get the shipping waived since I specifically came in to buy this item that I've seen there in stock many times in the past and I even checked online to make sure they still sell tortilla presses before coming to the store. She said she'd ask and came back with good news: Free shipping to my house!


I'm so glad I asked for help because I would have probably just left the store empty-handed and been forced to buy it online, without my coupon and with an added shipping charge. Gosh, I didn't think Bed Bath & Beyond could get any better, but it just did in my book! That's what I call outstanding customer service! 




(Note: Apparently, some Bed Bath & Beyond locations sell tortilla presses, just not any near me! The sales clerk could have requested a store to store transfer of merchandise, but that takes about two weeks. So, free shipping to my house was the better option in my case).
