Google Voice

You have to get a Google Voice number! It's so neat! Google Voice transcribes your voicemails and it automatically downloads voicemails to your phone so you don't have to waste air time minutes checking your voicemails. Plus, you get FREE TEXT MESSAGES! I love this concept! You can give out your Google Voice number to the people you don't necessarily want to have your mobile number and that offers you a bit more privacy and screening capabilities (i.e., if you start getting annoying calls, you can tell your phone to send those calls directly to voicemail without having to hear your phone ring!).  I think it's great for forms you have to fill out or contests you enter that require a phone number.

Google Voice also offers free calls to Canada and low international calling rates.

There are so many benefits to having a Google Voice number. You can manage your account online and it keeps track of your text messages and voicemails online, so you can always have access to them where ever you are.  I'm so excited about Google Voice, even though I am probably one of the last people to sign up for this--it's 100% FREE, so why not?
