Bank of the West is offering a FREE iPod Touch to new customers who open any personal checking account by September 3, 2010 with funds new to Bank of the West and either set up a monthly recurring direct deposit of at least $500, or pay 10 bills online, or make 20 debit card transactions. Direct deposit must be payroll, Social Security, pension or other government benefits. It looks like there is no monthly service charge and no minimum balance for one of the checking account options as long as you comply with one of the above stipulations (i.e., have direct deposit, pay 10 bills online or make 20 debit card transactions), but please see the fine print for more details.
