FREE Coffee and Tea at IKEA!
FREE COFFEE at IKEA? If you sign up for an IKEA Family Card, you get free coffee and tea when you go to IKEA! I signed up for a card today and it only took a few minutes at a machine stand in the kids' section next to the café. You have to be at least 18 years old to sign up and you have to enter your name, email address and date of birth (both can be 'dummies' if you don't want to provide actual information.) The cool part is that the machine prints up your card instantly! It is worth the time to sign up to get free coffee and tea at IKEA because, believe me, you will need the caffeine boost to get through the miles of winding pathways and long lines in that huge warehouse! IKEA is pretty genius to give out free coffee to its patrons--it sets the tone for happy and generous shopping for the rest of the IKEA day!
Happy Free Coffee at IKEA!
PS: IKEA also gives out FREE $0.99 breakfast to mothers on Mother's Day! That is a pretty sweet gesture considering you get eggs, potatoes and bacon along with a free coffee! A FREE breakfast that I don't have to cook or do the dishes afterwards?! I am so there! Thank you, IKEA, for your awesome freebies! (My house is full of IKEA goodies!)

Tart Green Smoothie
I have a slight cold this week, so I decided to make a green smoothie for breakfast to coat my throat and wake up to some nice kale. I threw this smoothie together and I can actually taste it, despite my deadened tastebuds! It is extra tart, so only make this if you need a kick in the morning like I do! :)
Tart Green Smoothie:
1 grapefruit
1 banana
2 handfuls of kale
ice
Blend and enjoy!

Tropical Green Smoothie
When pineapple is super ripe and sweet, this is the smoothie to make, a tropical green smoothie.
1 small banana
1 navel orange
1 cup pineapple
2 cups kale
ice
Blend and enjoy!
Note: I find the banana can overpower the smoothie sometimes, so you can use half if you want.

Fruit Salad Green Smoothie with Kale
Here's another wonderful green smoothie to make with a Vitamix Blender. This one is like a fruit salad with kale to give it that bright green color!
Eyeball it as always:
4-5 strawberries
1 medium/small banana
1 navel orange
1/2 Fuji apple (I just used a handful of pre-sliced apples)
3 generous handfuls of chopped kale
1-2 cups of ice (top it off with whatever fits)
Blend and enjoy! Praise the Vitamix for making green smoothies so easy and fun!

The Not-So-Green Green Smoothie
I am experimenting with more green smoothies and this one came out not-so-green, but it is still a green smoothie!
Again, just eyeball everything.
Half a cup of blackberries
Half a cup of blueberries
Handful of strawberries
Handful of spinach
2-3 handfuls of Kale
Handful of baby carrots
Ice
sprinkling of water, as needed to get it szhoozing!
This one isn't as sweet as the green smoothie I made yesterday, but it is packed with superfoods and still tastes ok. (The green smoothie is actually suitable for kids because you cannot even taste the kale.)

Green Smoothie
Who knew a green smoothie could taste so good? I just made this fabulous kale smoothie with my Vitamix blender and it turned out yummy!
Ingredients:
Just eyeball everything!
1 orange, peeled and quartered
1 pear, quartered
1 cup of strawberries
2 cups or 2-3 handfuls of kale (I just get the bagged, pre-chopped kind to save time)
top it off with ice, about 1 cup or so
Blend and enjoy!!
I love my Vitamix! This is the easiest way to make sure you get your daily fruits and veggies and with summer coming, smoothies are a must! ;)
